A leading logistics and freight handling business is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician
to join their team at their Western Sydney depot.

About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of automated sortation systems and freight handling equipment. Your focus will be on preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, ensuring equipment uptime and efficiency. You’ll also play an important role in supporting operational teams and driving continuous improvements across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
• Completing planned maintenance activities on sortation systems and related equipment (preventative, predictive, corrective, and project-based)
• Quickly identifying and correcting mechanical and automation faults
• Using and maintaining the computerised maintenance management system (MEX)
• Rapidly repairing critical system components to minimise downtime
• Ensuring adherence to all maintenance schedules and procedures
• Assisting operational staff with the correct use of systems and equipment
• Building collaborative working relationships with team members and operational staff
• Managing critical spare parts storage and ensuring neat organisation
• Keeping tools and equipment maintained and in safe working condition
• Contributing to the design and development of system improvements and facility solutions
About You

The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience in maintaining complex industrial or automated facilities
• Knowledge of PLC, VSD, and SCADA systems
• Understanding of carton and package handling conveyor systems
• The ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams
• Experience working with conveying equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Strong computer skills and the ability to use maintenance management systems (MEX)
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Project experience within an industrial or logistics environment
Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
• Electrical Connect/Disconnect certification (advantageous)
• Freight or transport industry experience
• Understanding of operational KPIs
• Ability to plan and execute complex tasks
• Strong focus on continuous improvement
• A valid driver’s licence
