The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting customers throughout the full lifecycle of their equipment—from installation and commissioning to servicing, maintenance, and training. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with national reach, reporting to the State Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled services and maintenance on supported equipment
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns onsite at customer locations
- Troubleshoot performance issues and implement long-term fixes
- Complete workshop-based rebuilds and servicing as required
- Provide technical support over the phone when needed
- Attend product training courses as directed
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and procedures
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong technical background and a proactive, customer-first mindset. You’ll bring:
- A current Electrician’s Licence OR trade qualification as a Fitter/Mechanic with a Restricted Electrical Licence
- Experience with packaging or processing equipment (food industry preferred)
- Solid knowledge of PLC-driven systems and electronic fault-finding
- Familiarity with motors, servomotors, and drive technology
- The ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to travel, including occasional weekend work
- A valid Driver’s Licence and strong personal accountability
- Fully maintained company vehicle
